Can an aerobic exercise programme improve the response of the growth hormone in fibromyalgia patients? A randomised controlled trial

1–2 minutes
  1. An aerobic exercise program had a moderate positive effect on improving the growth hormone (GH) response to acute exercise in fibromyalgia patients.
  2. Significant improvements were observed in aerobic capacity, quality of life, and body composition in the group that underwent the aerobic exercise program.
  3. The pre-intervention GH response to acute exercise was positively associated with improvements in aerobic capacity and quality of life.

In summary, the study suggests that aerobic exercise may improve GH response, aerobic capacity, and quality of life in women with fibromyalgia, potentially helping to alleviate some of the syndrome’s symptoms.
